Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Montana Campus Compact website! I believe deeply that our state needs the Montana Campus Compact. This unique and powerful coalition of college and university presidents, chancellors, and chief executives drives amazing and much needed civic engagement efforts. Our work to improve community life and educate students for civic and social responsibilities is critically important. I am convinced that if MTCC did not exist someone would have to invent it immediately. Our world requires thoughtful, compassionate, knowledgeable, and engaged leaders. We need a workforce that understands the important role of the individuals in a community. Higher education is an excellent place to teach and learn civic engagement.

The Montana Campus Compact prides itself on a community-oriented, human development philosophy that is the foundation of all of its programs and initiatives. We believe that everything we do should cultivate strong individuals and make positive impacts in the larger world. Administratively, MTCC is coordinated in a network office located in Missoula, Montana; but more importantly the network comprises thousands of dedicated students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners serving on or near college campuses throughout the state.

Our staff and volunteers strive to cultivate and provide resources, training, technical assistance, and recognition to those who want to make a difference in their communities. It is our hope that this website provides information that you need, in a way that is easy for you to navigate. If you need assistance or do not find what you are looking for, please contact me directly by e-mail. I also invite you to read our most recent Annual Report for more information on the Montana Campus Compact and our work.

Yours in Service,

Dean McGovern
