Campus Compact

Community Partners

The Community Partners program offers Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) membership benefits (such as $1000 and $1250 AmeriCorps Segal Education Awards for volunteers) to Montana schools, governmental agencies, and community-based organizations (CBOs). To join, a CBO submits a basic membership application, volunteer project description(s), and annual dues ($300-1000) to the community service office on their local MTCC-member campus. Campus staff reviews these proposals to ensure that projects include direct community service. Once project descriptions are agreed upon, the campus staff member sends a membership packet to the new Community Partner CBO. Working with campus staff, the CBO recruits volunteers to work on their project. Once volunteers have been recruited, the CBO collects and mails volunteer paperwork to the MTCC network office in Missoula.  Local campus staff provides a program orientation for new volunteers, while the MTCC network office enrolls members and records their hours. The AmeriCorps members commit to a 300-hour or 450-hour term of service and are rewarded with a Segal Education Award scholarship upon successful completion of their term. The local campus and the network office provide ongoing technical assistance, directory listings, and member updates.

To learn more about the Community Partners Program, contact Josh Vanek, Network Services Director, at 243-5177 ext. 2, or vanek@mtcompact.org.
