With funding made available through the Corporation for National & Community Service, Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) offered $625 mini-grants to support campus-community projects that engage volunteers to support September 11 Day of Service & Remembrance activities. Program coordinators, project partners and active VISTA members were encouraged to submit a Funding Request Form on behalf of their host institution.

9/11 Cultural Healing with Veterans

In order to be considered for funding, projects must:

· Be hosted by an active MTCC member institution in good standing (Contact Kathy at 243-5135) or a current partner institution in North Dakota, South Dakota or Wyoming

· Contribute or add value to current VISTA or Compact Service Corps projects, under the guidance and supervision of the local site supervisor or coordinator

· Engage campus and community volunteers

· Address one or more of the following: (Please provide detail in your funding request)

1. Disaster preparedness and response training (this can include handing out guides on how to make an emergency supply kit or how to create a family preparedness plan)

2. Engaging veterans and military families as beneficiaries or leveraged volunteers

3. Building capacity of nonprofit organizations to prepare for and respond to disasters
